Caz Rattigan (ASIA-PAC)

Hey, I'm Caz, I'm 20yrs old and was born and bred in sunny Sheffield!

I've always been really interested in Missions even before I knew God - then when I got saved it made perfect sense to me to go and tell people about Jesus and help them practically at the same time!

So that's pretty much what I do!

It's the best job ever! I get to travel all over the world, so far I've got to Indonesia, Madagascar, Cambodia, South Africa, Bosnia, Romania and Philippines... meeting and serving people in churches, in slums, working with street kids, in orpanages - anywhere where the gospel can be shared (which is everywhere!) and where people need help (also everywhere!)

I work in an organisation called Youth With A Mission (YWAM) which is the biggest Missionary Organisation in the world. Currently I am working in the High Schools in Australia doing seminars and working with the Youth. My heart is to see youth fall in Love with Jesus, not just know His name, but to know Him personally. We're living in times previously unseen in history and we are the generation that could see the great commission fulfilled if we are willing to lay down our lives and go to the Nations.

Recent News From Caz:
I’ve been on the Youth Ministry Training school since the start of October. Nothing really could have prepared me for what I was going to find- even if I did get a pre-warning of its intensity!
Our first week was on ‘Generational Vulnerability and Holiness’, looking at the issues within our generation and that in order to be effective, we must be ones who pursue holiness (which is putting God’s ways above our own). This week was awesome and a great introduction to revelation that I’ve been raised in a generation that has a post-modernist mindset and how that has influenced my thinking! But this wasn’t the best week…
Our second week was on ‘the Nature and Character of God’. We were asking the big questions about if God was good – how could He destroy a Nation? We looked at the History of the time, the culture and how God could not do something unloving – otherwise He would not be God. For me, the biggest thing I came to realise was this ‘Who am I to question God? Who am I to say that He was unjust? Who am I to say He got it wrong?’ But this wasn't the best week….
The best week for me has been this last week. ‘World View’. It’s been so interesting to get the understanding that everyone has a religion whether it’s atheism, humanism, Islam, Christianity, relativism, environmentalism, and scientism (this list could go on!) everyone has a perspective on the world! They all have faith that they’re right. There is no such thing as the secular, because everything is a worldview. We’re taught humanism and post modernism, that there is not absolute truth, the thing is, that statement in itself is a contradiction, because you’re making an absolute statement that there is no absolute truth! It was really good and really challenging. I realised that there are a lot of ideas that I have that are not of God therefore out with the old and welcome in the new!
