Our Leaders

Take a look at what makes the fine people at Uncut tick.

Ben Walker

Ben was born and raised in Ecclesall and has been part of All Saints since 2001. Since finishing a degree in Computing in 2006, Ben has set up a thriving business creating web sites and graphics for local businesses, bands, churches, and more.

Having grown, and headed up, and graduated from the visuals team, you'll find him looking after the creative and publicity side of things, as well as DJing at Teenage Kicks, and being part of the Uncut Leadership Team.

In his spare time Ben hangs out, drinks tea, plays Wii, bakes cakes, and watches movies - often all at the same time.

Edwin (Harry) Steele

Harry is married to Zoey, at a young age he turned his back on a promising (!) career as a furniture maker and studied for a BA in Biblical Theology with the University of Wales at Mattersey Hall. Whilst doing his training Harry and Zoey moved to Sheffield and joined All Saints; where they were both very involved with the youth ministry.

After spending a year studying in Cambridge in 2006, the family (now added to with the arrival of Ezra and Jonas!) is back at All Saints Church, where Harry launched "the Uncut Project", a community that seeks to meet with God in a way that is relevant to a generation that is searching for something real. Harry was ordained in June 2008 and is Curate Pioneer Minister at All Saints.

Harry is  a huge fan of popular music, particularly Johnny Cash and Bill Mallonee. He rides a motorbike, doesn't read as much as he would like to, and tries to play football. Harry is passionate about making theology relevant and applicable to the whole church, for this reason he loves preaching and teaching; his motto is, "theology is too important to be left in the hands of theologians."

John Marshall

John was born and raised in the fair city of Sheffield. After A-levels, art college, living in Canada and going on mission in Central America John finally decided to do a BA in Biblical and Applied Theology with the University of Wales at Mattersey Hall. His jobs have included gardening, painting, pet shop assistant, teaching and grave digging.

He currently works part-time for a bank and has taken up the position of Youth Ministry Lay Assistant, working alongside coolness-incarnate Joe Gleadall. In his spare time John hangs out with friends, watches sci-fi, plays badminton, shaves his ever advancing facial hair and is lord of the geeks.

Joe Gleadall

Joe has lived in Sheffield all his life, although his accent suggests otherwise, and has been a part of All Saints Ecclesall since 2004.

He works fulltime with Harry in The Uncut Project office, doing admin, planning The Anvil and Livin' It, and making tea and coffee. He is looking forward to seeing how God is going to use The Uncut Project in the next few years, and can't wait to see what new adventure we'll be going on with Jesus.

Joe is a massive fan of movies, and also likes buying CDs, if only to give him something to talk about. He has also been known to enjoy food, but only when someone else is paying.

Andrew Seaton

Andrew, on top of running a succesful IT business, is involved as a leader overseeing many aspects of the ministry. Andrew is regularly involved in speaking and leading at The Anvil, his geek skills mean he is able to look after our technical teams, and he runs the 18+ ministry (called Motion).

In his spare time Andrew enjoys food (Chinese and Cheese being particular favourites  .. but not at the same time), films, the odd book and just relaxing with mates. He particularly enjoys cars, and is one day hoping to build his own sports car.

Jez Seaton

Jeremy is one in a long line of Seatons who are involved in the leadership of Uncut. Although born in Kenya, Jez grew up in the fair suburb of Ecclesall. After pioneering Livin’ It for the younger end of the Uncut community Jez got involved in Teenage Kicks and turned the security of that event into a well oiled operation. Brief spells away in Southampton and Ipswich only gave him a deeper love of the Uncut Project. Jez is renowned for his ability to drag completely random people to the Anvil and will talk to anyone…about anything at all…for a long time.

In his spare time he works for Resolve IT doing geeky stuff with computers, servers and the like.

Jonathan Seaton

Jon has been a member of Ecclesall church since he moved to Sheffield back in the 1990s. After managing to stay in education for the first 25 years of his life, he had to make the sad move into employment! Jon is involved in various activities in the ministry, including Teenage Kicks and the senior leadership team.

Jon passionately believes in service and as such gives much of his free time to both ministry and community projects. He is real worker at heart and you will often find him studying contracts and sending emails late into the night. Jon is the man to talk to about fine teas, home brew beer, Monday night football and the majesty of Radio Four!

Katie Casson

Katie keeps a keen eye on the welcoming aspect of the Uncut Project, which sounds pretty simple until you consider just how much cake, hot chocolate and sweets are involved in such an operation. Katie works as a teacher in the area of food technology and is married to Pete. She can regularly be seen running around the streets of Sheffield as she engages in the activity of jogging…for fun.
